Salamanca Transportation - Car Rental, the Airport, Buses, Trains
Salamanca airport is a military airport and is not used for passenger flights. The nearest international airport is Barajes in Madrid about 2-3 hours away. Salamanca is connected with Madrid by Train from Chamartn train station and by bus from Plaza de Conde de Casal.
Salamanca Train Station
Salamanca train station is located in the centre of Salamanca and connects the town to the rest of the capitals in Castilla Leon as well as Madrid and a few other destinations. Taking the train is normally the fastest way whereby Salamanca is connected to other Spanish towns. It is a bit more expensive than the bus net but is compensated by being faster.

Taking a Bus in Spain is normally the cheapest alternative when wishing to travel within the country. The buses are modern and comfortable and the road net is usually effective although the many mountains and the heavy traffic (especially during the summer and during national holydays) can make it very time consuming.
